Description

Once called the muster, the Etruscan Army formed around their Nobles. The first of the troops to form around such notable leaders as Lars Porsenna would have been his Household or familial troops, sometimes referred to as Class II warriors.

These chaps, as professional warriors, are sometimes shown in wall art and funerary paintings of the period as more lightly armoured. As such, we have shown them in Hemi-thorax, Wolf-pelt cloak and Mitra (groin protector), and no armour – just tabard and ornate helmet. We’ve also represented 1 warrior with heavy Pilum, as the Etruscan soldiery become ever more ‘Roman-ized’, with the other 2 carrying very large Macheira – some Etruscan Macheirs that have been found are huge – nearly 90 cms long!!

6 metal 28mm figures, complete with Aspis shields, swords and Pila. Supplied unassembled, unpainted and unbased. You will need to supply your own wire spears should you wish to replace the Pilum on figure 1
