Legionary Command

4 x 28mm highly detailed metal figures, representing the Legionary Command of a Tribune, Consul and his Lictor bodyguards @ £6

Out of stock

A Roman Legion was commanded in the field by 6 military Tribunes, all under the overall command of a Consul. Romans were notoriously paranoid about allowing one man too much power, and so limited the opportunity for misuse of its armies by appointing two Consuls as joint commanders in Chief – sharing command on alternate days. Hannibal famously exploited this weakness, luring army after Consular army to its doom!

This set of 4 highly detailed metal figures represent a military Tribune of the Republic and a Consul, complete with his body guard of Lictors.
